Hunger is a serious problem in the St. Louis metropolitan region, but it is solvable. As the sponsor of TACKLE HUNGER, Neighbors Credit Union has partnered with Operation Food Search, the local NBC affiliate KSDK 5 On Your Side, and local high schools throughout the St. Louis area collect non-perishable food donations to build a healthier and more vibrant region. Our TACKLE HUNGER campaign efforts in 2022 resulted in more than 44,000 pounds of donated non-perishable food and more than $6,000 in monetary donations. The value of these donations combined is $84,000, enough to provide quality nutrition to 16,687 people for one day.
And, we were back at it again in the Fall of 2023 … finishing our Tackle Hunger campaign with a collection total of 68,722 pounds of food plus $1,800 in monetary donations! The non-perishable food donations collected are valued at $120,470.50 and represent enough to help Operation Food Search provide quality nutrition to 17,388 people for one day!
