Neighbors Credit Union, in partnership with Billiken Athletics, recently completed another successful “Block Out Hunger” campaign. This 2025-2026 season’s campaign raised $5,180 to benefit Operation Food Search and its mission to fight hunger and food insecurity across the St. Louis region. Completing its third consecutive year, the initiative once again demonstrated the powerful impact of combining community partnerships. Throughout the regular season, the Saint Louis University men’s and women’s basketball teams combined for 249 total blocks, with Neighbors Credit Union donating $20 for every block recorded.
The Billiken women’s basketball team led the way with 140 blocks, while the men’s team added 109 blocks, resulting in the campaign’s highest total to date and surpassing last season’s efforts. “Block Out Hunger continues to show how impactful our student-athletes can be beyond the game,” said Kyle Ingram, General Manager of Billiken Sports Properties. “We’re incredibly proud of both our men’s and women’s programs for their performance on the court and grateful to Neighbors Credit Union for their ongoing commitment to making a difference in our community.”
Proceeds from the campaign will once again support Operation Food Search, a St. Louis-based nonprofit dedicated to providing free food, nutrition education, and innovative programs to reduce food insecurity, particularly among children and families.
“Neighbors Credit Union is honored to see the continued growth of the Block Out Hunger campaign,” said Paula Anderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Neighbors Credit Union. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening the community, and we’re proud to support Operation Food Search while celebrating the success of Billiken basketball.”
With another successful season in the books, Billiken Athletics and Neighbors Credit Union look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to make a meaningful impact in the St. Louis community.
